Halloween is just around the corner, but it is never too late to pick up a scary book. Come down to the School Library to browse our collection of horror and all things spooky. Here are some of our most recent additions:
Come down to your School Library to see the reorganization of our fiction collection. We have moved Science Fiction, Fantasy, Horror, Mystery, and Adventure onto their own shelves. You can still find other genres, such as Young Adult, Historical Fiction, Classic, Adult Literacy, and more, on the “General Fiction” shelves.
We have also created a Biography section. Learn more about the lives of all sorts of people, some famous, some not-so-famous, some heroes, some villains… We have biographies (and autobiographies) of activists, athletes, singers, writers, leaders, scientists, actors, thinkers, musicians, artists, and more.
Come down to your School Library to check out our creepy and disturbing collection of materials for Halloween. We have scary stories that cover all manner of terror.
American writer Stephen King was born on this day in 1947. King has been referred to as the “King of Horror” as he has written dozens of horror novels and hundreds of horror stories. Some of his best known works include Carrie, It, The Shining, and the Dark Tower series. Many of his novels and stories have been adapted for film and television.
King’s works aren’t limited to horror. He has also written books and stories that fit it many other categories or genres. Many lovers of the films “The Shawshank Redemption” and “Stand By Me.” don’t realize that these films were adapted from King’s books.
Halloween is less than a week away. Are you scared? Here are some Halloween related titles that are new to us at the School Library. If you aren’t scared now, you will be if you read one of them.
