This course is offered to students in Grades 10-12. Library Science provides students with an introduction to the basics of library procedures such as circulation, shelving and maintenance of the collection. Students also provide assistance to other students and staff with research, catalogue searches and more. Students gain valuable experience that can be applied in many future educational and career paths. Prior to enrolling in the course students are required to consult with both Mr. Sexton and the counsellor.
Students volunteer as school library monitors before school, at lunch and after school. Volunteer hours can be applied to service hour requirements or service awards. Volunteers gain valuable experience and get to be a part of a fun and dedicated team of people. Click here for more information.
