October is International School Library Month and Canadian Library Month. Join with us as we celebrate the power and joy of libraries, and our commit to protecting this vital institution for all people.

*Books include regular printed books in hardcover or paperback form, ebooks, audiobooks, and more. We also have magazines, board games, DVDs and other audiovisual materials, and much, much more.

The School Library is open for the 2023-2024 year. However, we need student volunteers so that we can offer borrowing to students before school, at lunch, and after school. If you are interested in joining us, come down to the School Library to learn more!

Indigenous Peoples Collection

Come into the School Library to check out our newly established Indigenous Peoples Collection. This section of the School Library is devoted to titles from authentic indigenous writers.


All titles in the Indigenous Peoples Collection are designated with spine labels bearing the “IPC” prefix. Sublocations in the IPC include:

  • Coast Salish
  • Northwest Coast
  • First Nations
  • Inuit
  • Metis
  • Urban
  • Global
  • Own Voice
  • Truth and Reconciliation

Free Delivery

Do you know that you can have FREE school library books delivered to you FOR FREE in your classroom, all at no cost, in other words, FREE?!?

Here’s how you do it:

1. Search for Tweedsmuir Library or use this URL : tweedsmuirlibrary.wordpress.com

2. Click on Catalog

3. Sign in with your School District username and password

4. Use the Catalog (Destiny Classic or Destiny Discover) to search for books

5. When you find a book, click on the title or on the “Details” button

6. Click the “Hold It” button

7. Expect an email to your Surrey Schools email address when the book is ready.

8. IF you don’t use your Surrey Schools email, you will need to use your regular email to contact tweedsmuirlibrary@gmail.com

9. When the book is ready, you can pick it up at the School Library OR you can have it delivered to your morning class.
